In this study, in view of the existing problems of traffic infrastructure in Hong Kong and Macao Greater Bay Area and by referring to the construction experience of world-class Greater Bay Area, some policy suggestions on how to optimize the pattern of urban rail network in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Greater Bay Area are put forward. The emphases are laid in the problems of efficient circulation demand of service resources between major platforms such as the monotonous traffic structure in the circum-pearl river delta bay area, unsmooth connection between the east and west banks, inability to meet the needs in Guangdong Free Trade Area and New Area of New City, etc., and the construction idea of “Rail Loop in Bay Area” is proposed, and the relevant policy recommendations are put forward from the aspects such as the promotion of planning, strengthening land use guarantee and control, and promoting the in-depth connection with Hong Kong and Macao and so on.
